NLNL Dance Community – All Venues

Re: Changes to our Booking Process & Attendance in 2026

Dear Dancers,

Teena here from No Lights No Lycra Morayfield to Brisbane. Hope this finds you well.

I am letting you know in advance of a few changes that we will be implementing with regards to our Bookings and Dancing in the Dark from January 2026 when we return after our 2025 Christmas break.

We have been made aware that other NLNL Hosts have had to increase their entry fees BUT we have maintained the same entry fee of $10.00 per person, or $8.00 for Concession Card Holders since I started with NLNL in 2021 and I am committed to keeping that fee the same for as long as practically possible.

We are like everyone else and, over the last year in particular, we have experienced increased costs for hall hire fees and all the associated rising costs of running this business, because it is a business, as well as a community venture and I want to be able to continue to sustain our special dancing in the dark sessions for more many years to come. SO - This is what we are planning:

From January 2026 we will be transitioning to a system where all tickets will need to be Booked and Pre-Paid. Links can be found below.

IF we DO NOT reach that allocated number of attendees for a session by 8pm the night prior, with the Pre-Paid Tickets and Multi Dance Pass RSVP’s - we will cancel that session and reschedule for another night – normally the next week or the next allocated

session date for that venue.

Whilst we appreciate that this may not always be convenient for some to reschedule, we have to take into serious and practical consideration that we need minimum attendance numbers to cover the hall hire fees OR we will not be here this time the following year to offer our dancing to anyone…

We have also taken into account scheduling our Crew of Volunteers for the sessions, time needed to travel to the venues and time for setting it up for our dancers.

Plus as most of you know, we have other venues on different nights so there are alternate options available for everyone. Join the “NLNL Hoppers” Club! :-D

Our Multi Dance Pass Holders can continue to use their passes as normal but the Multi Dance Passes (MDP’s) and Merchandise will only be available for pre-purchase via Direct Deposit to our Bank Account, a Square Link Code and/or Pay ID.

We will then allocate and distribute the Multi Dance Pass Cards & merchandise

from the venues.

Standard Tickets will be available via our usual online Booking Options with TryBooking, Humanitix and Eventbrite. We compared all the booking fees and with respect to the other options, TryBooking was the best and cheapest at only 0.50c per booking but we will leave this up to you to make the choice who you use to Pre-Pay your Bookings with.

The plan is to start these changes in January 2026 to have it fully functional by the end of February 2026 and we will remind and update everyone prior to the stages.

Thanks so much for your time and understanding as we move forward into 2026

and beyond with you. If you have ANY questions, please reach out to me.
