Seasons Greetings to You & Yours from The Crew!

 

Hello there! Now that Christmas is done and dusted and while we can, we're jumping in here to send you some Happy New Year Wishes for 2026.

 

Our dancing in the dark has finished for 2025 and we had some lovely Christmas celebrations with our dancers and friends from our Morayfield, North Lakes, North Brisbane & Brisbane venues.

We have so much fun with our dancers and love that those who want to dress up for any of our themed music nights, most times do that thing ;-) It doesn’t take our Crew much encouragement to dress up at any time so we’re always excited when our dancers join in for that extra bit of fun!

What is also so nice was that with our social events we all have a chance to just gather and catch up or share some food/snacks and especially for the newer folks amongst us. It's also a great way to get to know each other a little better.

 

It's been a busy year, trying to keep busy amidst many "interruptions" and we are looking forward to the break over Christmas and New Years for sure. We will be recharged, rested and ready to dive in again at all our venues from the week starting Monday 12th January 2026.

 

 

Our dancing in the dark is about providing a space where everyone and anyone can feel free to sing, dance, let loose, move, exercise and express themselves with no judgement.

 

We provide a place which is inclusive and we welcome dancers from all walks and wheels of life. Age, physical agility or ability is definitely no barrier and it is a special and cool as dance community like no other.

Over this break we plan to finish revamping our website to make it more “user-friendly” and will change things just a little so it will be THE place to head to for updates and information.

 

There's some exciting things planned for 2026 and we'll share those a little closer to the dates. RSVP Bookings will be required for all our venues and sessions so we know how many are coming (roughly) and can plan and facilitate things to ensure they go ahead.

 

We’ve created an easy link on our home page for anyone to send us song requests and don’t forget to check out our Spotify Profile link there where all our past playlists can be found.

We’re also looking forward to seeing a few more of our dancers back at the doors in 2026 and to welcoming new folk to the NLNL experience. There’s still so many people out there who (we believe) are interested but not certain if it’s something they will enjoy.

 

We get that. We understand because we ALL have been there. You just have to come and see what it’s like for yourself. We are working on our “Year in Review” video which will be ready to go live on New Years Eve.

Finally, I would like to personally give my Heartfelt Thank You's...

 

To "The Crew" who without their support and help we would not be able to run our sessions. All of our venues are different and each one has it's own unique challenges to make dark. We turn into MacGuyvers and become creative with ways to do just that.

 

Our crew do the signs, covers, set up the desk and facilitate the dancers getting checked off and in the door and help manage things in the background. THANKS A MIL to Graeme, Kelsi, Kyra, Michael, Kelly, Barbara, Bryony and Jen.

To our "handy helpers" who without being asked get stuck in and help us pack up at North Brisbane each week, which helps us get on the road home. So VERY much appreciated - Michele, Stefan, Andrew and Cilla and anyone else who has helped out along the way.

 

LASTLY but just as importantly - Thanks to our amazing dancers for coming and sharing the space and time with us. You are the reason we keep turning up each week and we appreciate you more than you realise. Thanks to our Followers & Supporters from near and far and...That's it folks! Keep smiling, keep dancing & we’ll see you on the flipside!
